Fall 2014

Book News:

I will be doing a number of presentations and tours over the next eight months, starting with BC Teacher Librarian Association Conference on October 23 at Bridges Restaurant, Granville Island, Vancouver BC. Then on December 3 I will be at Guildford Library, Surrey, BC from 7:00 to 8:30 doing a talk for their “Authors Among Us” series. Reading the Bones was selected for this years Reading Link Challenge and I will be touring the Fraser Valley Libraries doing talks, as well as other libraries in the Vancouver BC's lower mainland. Dates will be posted in December.

When Children Play was nominated for the Hackmatack Non-fiction Awards and I have been invited to tour New Brunswick schools and libraries May 3 to 8. Then I will attend the final celebration and awards ceremony in Halifax on Friday, May 8.

You can listen to a recent interview I had with Sheryl Mackay, the host of CBC's North by Northwest -- Click Here. We discussed how growing up with my sister, Jane, who had Down syndrome, was the inspiration for my book, Free as a Bird and what it was like to be nominated for the Governor General's Literary Award.

If you'd like to have me give a book talk to your school group, library, or other youth group, please visit my talks page for more information. I'm currently taking reservations for the 2014-2015 season.Book talk
